At our Regensburg production site, natural gas consumption was significantly reduced through the implementation of an optimized control system for our combined heat and power (CHP) units. This resulted in savings of 8,000 MWh – equivalent to 1,600 tons of CO2.

As an example – our colleague Jens, a long-standing Head of Logistics at the Regensburg site:
Jens and his team manage the storage, picking, and delivery of more than 33,000 different materials. Responsibility for goods receipt, import and export customs processing, and even the disposal of hazardous waste often makes the daily routine for Jens and his team quite stressful.
Jens’ vision is: “I want to support people in fully utilizing their talents and abilities for their own development.” This applies to him both in his professional and personal life.
He therefore dedicates a large part of his free time to supporting the international organization Embracing the World (ETW) and its German branch, Amrita e.V. Embracing the World supports people in need with food, shelter, healthcare, education, and livelihoods, especially in the aftermath of natural and other disasters.
As part of this work, Jens occasionally cooks with an international team for thousands of guests, also aiming to inspire more people to get involved in helping others.
