Manuel works at ams OSRAM in Herbrechtingen. After graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering from Munich Technical University (TUM), he started his career as a Production Engineer at the ams OSRAM Automotive (AM) business unit, where he creates laser light modules for the automotive industry. At AM, he’s your contact partner for any questions concerning technological aspects. “It’s my job to answer technical questions of my colleagues from production, and I also discuss with developers how we can further optimize our manufacturing processes.

Joining the world market leader in automotive lighting and being able to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology was the ideal way for Manuel to enter working life. “Developing such a complex high-end product and experiencing the great moment when it actually gets on the road – that’s really exciting”, he emphasizes. “And the ongoing transformation at OSRAM truly attracted me to joining the company. From a traditional lamp manufacturer to a solution provider – I wanted to experience this transformation first hand and contribute to it.”

For Manuel, joining a corporate group as big as ams OSRAM after his university studies meant treading new ground. “I first had to get accustomed to so many different departments and communication paths.” He settled in quickly – also thanks to the proactive support he received from his mentor: The experienced engineer was at his side during the onboarding phase and taught him lots of useful things about the company and the job. “I greatly benefited from his experience”, Manuel emphasizes, looking back at this time in his life.
